Sunnies Studio Sunglasses Review: Layla, Suki, and Ava

Despite not getting to go with my mum on her last vacation to the Philippines, I did take advantage of her trip and ordered myself some Sunnies Studios sunglasses. Sunglasses are one of those things I can't stop buying even though I have enough of them already. I've always been hesitant to order sunglasses online since a lot of sunglasses don't suit by round face but I went out on a whim for Sunnies. I hope they come to the UK at some point as they're stylish but so affordable. I thought I'd show you the ones I got in case anyone else is interested in buying a pair. You can get them in stores and online in the Philippines and I think they're also sold on Zalora in the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia. I ordered directly from the Sunnies website and they only took about 3 days to get to our house in the Philippines! They each come packaged up safely in boxes and you get a sleeve and cloth for each.

Layla

I went back and forth on my decision to buy this pair but I'm glad I went up going for them since they don't actually look too bad on me. I love the toned-down cat eye shape. I went for the chestnut frames since I thought it would be a nice change from my usual black but they do have quite a few other colours to choose from. These sunglasses might be cheap but they definitely don't feel cheap. Kinda like you could drop them a lot and they'll survive, which is what I need in my sunglasses. I just wish there was a cool symbol or the Sunnies logo on the sides since they look a bit plain.

Suki

These Miu Miu copies are extremely cute but sadly, I think they suit me the least. They're still a great pair of sunglasses though and I really love the gold accents. They feel less sturdy than the other pairs due to the thin sides but despite that they're still good quality. I'll see if they look good on me with my hair tied up so I can keep them but if not I hope one of my friends (or my mum) will take em.

Ava

They say if you have a round face, go for sunglasses with more square-like frames. That's why I went for the Ava since I thought they'd be my safest bet. And I think they are, although the first photo probably isn't the best one of me. I definitely like how they look in the mirror though. These feel very sturdy just like the Layla. The frames are matte black and the yellowish lenses make me feel like I'm looking through a sepia filter. The gradient on the lenses is a nice touch too.

So that's my Sunnies Studios review. I hope this will be a good reference for anyone else with a round face shape thinking about getting some Sunnies. They're stylish and very inexpensive (these were all 399-499 PHP, around £6-£8) so definitely check them out if you can!

Lady in Black

Earring - & Other Stories
Top - & Other Stories, Skirt - Mong Kok, HK
It was my last week of uni, so I thought it would be fun to dress up and take some photos with my friends. We were going to take them around our campus but then we decided Somerset House looks a lot prettier. I wore this gorgeous blouse from & Other Stories with a midi skirt I got back in HK. I went with one accessory but I think this & Other Stories earring is fine on its own. It's simple but bold enough to be a bit of a statement piece. And of course, I finished things off with my trusty black heels. It's fun to dress up fancy but really I just wanted to run through the fountains in the middle of the courtyard. I'll make sure to dress appropriately for that next time.

March Favourites

Oh March. You really kicked my ass, you know. Was it really necessary to cram in all those deadlines? I really did not enjoy much of this month but here are some of the things I did enjoy.

Clothes
Topshop Jumper
I had a voucher for Topshop, so I ended up going through the Oxford Street store trying to find something I liked. Why is it that whenever you're in the mood to buy something you can't find anything but when you're broke everything in the store looks amazing? Anyway, I wasn't sold on this jumper but I tried it on for fun and ended up thinking 'actually this is great!' It's comfortable and huge - I got it in a size 6 and it looks nicely oversized on me. I wore it in my last outfit post, which you can check out here.

Beauty
This month I've been using Etude House's Every Month Cleansing Foam in 3 - Apple and Tomato. It was a complete coincidence that I started using month 3's cleanser in March but maybe it means I'm doing something right. This cleanser is meant to be tone clarifying and brightening but I haven't noticed that much of a change in my complexion. I think I'm just not observant enough. However, this cleanser has been good at removing makeup and my face feels really refreshed after I use it. It tightens my skin and just makes it feel really clean. I'll be sure to write a full review after I've used it a bit more.

Games
At the start of the month, I downloaded Tales From The Borderlands since I wanted to try out a Tell Tale game. They specialize in episodic gaming, and since Tales has been out forever I got to binge-play it. I hadn't played the Borderlands games but I still really enjoyed this game. You play as company man Rhys and con artist Fiona who end up teaming up to find a Vault full of treasure. As with all Tell Tale games you get to decide what the characters say and make some of their big decisions. You also get to hit buttons repeatedly at some points  (which I could've done without to be honest) but all in all it's a really fun, hilarious game.

Fallout 4's first DLC Automatron was also released this month so I was hooked on that for a good couple of hours. This DLC introduces a new threat to the Commonwealth - The Mechanist and their robots. Robots are my favourite part of Fallout so this was pretty much everything I ever wanted. You get to build your own robots too, so I've begun the process of filling all of my settlements with friendly bots.
